Making it easy to save for your future

Participating in your employer-sponsored retirement plan can set you on the path to achieving the retirement you envision. Your plan’s online enrollment will walk you through the decisions you need to make, providing help along the way. Online enrollment only takes about ten minutes, so don’t wait—start saving today. (Depending on your plan, you may not see all of the following steps during online enrollment.)

If you were automatically enrolled in your plan, you’ll see your account dashboard after you register for online access. From there, it’s easy to make adjustments to your investment selections and your contribution rate.

If you have any questions, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.

1

Getting Started

Go to LincolnFinancial.com/Register and follow the prompts to register for an online account. After you register for online access, your online account will make it easy for you to manage your contributions and investments, check your balance, and access tools and resources that can help you prepare for retirement.

Once you’re on the Get Started tab, click START ENROLLING.

2

About Me

Confirm your personal information and designate your beneficiaries. It’s important to keep your beneficiary information up-to-date so your assets are distributed according to your wishes. This tab also lets you sign up for eDelivery, which provides convenient online account documents instead of paper documents.
3

My Retirement Outlook

(This step may not apply to your plan.) My Retirement Outlook can help you figure out if your retirement journey is on track or if you need to hit the accelerator on your savings. Enter information such as your salary, your current retirement savings, and how much you’re going to contribute to the plan, and the tool will calculate your estimated retirement income. If you might not reach your goal, you can change your inputs and recalculate.

4

My Contributions

(This step may not apply to your plan.) Enter the amount you’d like to contribute to the plan. Some plans may enter this number for you, but you can change that here if you want to contribute a different amount. A good rule of thumb is to save 10% to 15% of your salary. But the important thing is to start saving—you can always increase your contributions later. In fact, boosting your contributions by 1% to 2% each year can have a big impact on your long-term savings. If your employer offers matching contributions, make sure you save enough to get the full match—otherwise, you’re missing out on free money!

5

My Investment Choices

Consider your options and decide which path best fits your needs. Would you prefer your plan’s easier solutions or do you want to explore all of your plan’s investments and create your portfolio yourself? If you’re going to select your investments yourself, click on Research Investments to see a summary of all of your options, along with performance and fee data. Click on a fund name to see more detailed information. After you’ve made your choices, verify your selections and submit.

When selecting investments, it’s helpful to know your investor profile. Are you conservative, aggressive, or somewhere in between? How much risk are you willing to take in exchange for higher potential returns? Take a quiz found at the back of this enrollment kit and find out!

Summary

Congratulations! By taking these steps, you’ve made progress along your retirement journey. It’s a good idea to review your investments at least once a year to determine if they still fit your needs and your investor profile.
